Why You Should Eat a Mango Everyday

Mango the king of Fruits

Mango is a succulent stone fruit made from several species of tropical trees belonging to the genus Mangifera, a flowering plant that grows mostly for its edible fruit.

The mango usually is sweet, though the mango flesh’s taste and texture vary across cultivars, some having a pulpy and soft texture like an overripe plum, whereas others have firmer flesh.

In South Asia, for thousands of years, Mangoes have been cultivated, and between the 4th and 5th centuries BC, they reached East Asia. By the 10th century AD, its cultivation had begun in East Africa. Ibn-e-Battuta, a 14th-century Moroccan traveler, first reported it in Mogadishu. It was then cultivated in Brazil, Mexico, and the West Indies, where a suitable climate allows it to grow.

Mangoes are often used in food. Unripe and sour mangoes have to be served in sauces, pickles, or side dishes. They can also be eaten raw with pepper, salt, or soy sauce. A cool summer drink can be made with the milk mixture to make mango with extra sugar.

Ripe mangoes are eaten especially fresh. However, they can have many uses. Mango-lassi, which is made all over South Asia, is formed by mixing ripened, skin-removed mangoes or mango pulp with yogurt and sugar to taste. Mangoes also used to make curry. Mangoes are also used to make mango nectar, juices, and as a flavoring agent. They are a major ingredient in ice cream and sorbets.

In America, mangoes are either consumed greens, mixed with vinegar, salt, hot sauce, and pepper, or cooked in various forms. Toasted and grounded pumpkin seeds (papaya) with lime and salt are common when eating green mangoes. Some people even add chili sauce or soy sauce to enhance the taste. The mango portion can be peeled and applied as a topping on ice cream or mixed with milk and ice to make milkshakes. Sugary glutinous rice flavored with coconut can be served with sliced mangoes as a dessert.

Mango Juice Benefits

Mango Juice

Mango juice has the most benefits of raw mango. It can help keep your heart healthy, it’s a great source of antioxidants, and it could lower your risk of cancer. It is also full of essential vitamins and minerals.

Mango juice has just as many calories as raw mango, but because it has less fiber, you’re more likely to eat more food after drinking mango juice compared to if you had eaten raw mango! So, it’s not a great idea to have too much if you’re on a diet.

The calories in a cup of mango juice vary significantly based on whether or not sugar has been added by the manufacturer, and if so, how much.

A typical mango juice drink contains sugar, or a mixed juice drink (such as apples and mangoes or grapes and mangoes) contains about 130 calories per cup.

Mango juice usually has little more calories – 150 cups per cup – because it has a lot of mango pulp, and that’s why it’s thicker and more indulgent.
