Mango is a succulent stone fruit made from several species of tropical trees belonging to the genus Mangifera, a flowering plant that grows mostly for its edible fruit.

In America, mangoes are either consumed greens, mixed with vinegar, salt, hot sauce, and pepper, or cooked in various forms. Toasted and grounded pumpkin seeds (papaya) with lime and salt are common when eating green mangoes. Some people even add chili sauce or soy sauce to enhance the taste. The mango portion can be peeled and applied as a topping on ice cream or mixed with milk and ice to make milkshakes. Sugary glutinous rice flavored with coconut can be served with sliced mangoes as a dessert.
