Ocado Switches Over to M&S

Ocado Switches Over to M&S

Ocado Supermarket has undertaken a shift from Waitrose to M&S (Marks & Spencer) following the customers’ considerable grocery shopping and booking. The switch followed a rise in demand which resulted in cancelling orders. Duncan Tatton-Brown, the finance chief of the retailer said that buyers have welcomed the reversal.

After the coronavirus pandemic, online shopping for groceries has duplified its stock in the market to 14%. Ocado believes the figure might even reach 30% in the future. Ocado couldn’t grow its capacity since the start of the pandemic. This is while rival businesses like Tesco, Asda, and Morrisons managed to handle the new situation to uplift their capacity and promote their online shopping.

Ending the 20-year cooperation with Waitrose and commencing the tie-up with M&S might mean opening a new door to massive profits.
