Energy-saving Architecture

In today’s world, plants and trees can intermix with architecture to build exceptional inspirational buildings. The buildings in Milan, Italy, is a nice example. The Bosco Verticale, Italian for “Vertical Forest”, contains two towers, 80 and 112 meters tall. Designed based on sustainable energy structure, the outer parts of the buildings are wrapped in plants and trees. The architect of the gorgeous building, Stefano Boeri, said the simple design allows an outlook of plants in a small residential place. One resident said, the plants in terraces have a great influence on the quality of life. The temperature goes down in summertime thanks to plants existence. Also, in winter, the greenhouse effect helps us use less heat. Michael Green Architecture (MGA), in Vancouver, focuses on mixing timber in its style. In Minnesota’s T3 Minneapolis, for instance, 1,100 boards of “nail-laminated timber” are used which are from trees destroyed by pine beetles. Samira H.

Uganda Generates Energy from Agri-waste

Uganda, a fertile country in Africa, is applying innovative high-tech to take advantage of its waste for energy purposes. According to a survey by the Uganda National Household (2016/2017) declared that 65% of Uganda’s workforce population were engaged in agriculture, forest management, and fishing. Meanwhile, the waste from these sectors are also be used for energy. Vianney Tumwesige, the managing director of Green Heat International enterprise, is active in producing fertilizers and biofuels from the waste. Developing sustainable energy, the firm treats the agriculture waste in 2 basic ways. Instances are waste products including banana skins and charcoal dust, which help to produce briquettes. Likewise, technology has assisted to generate fertilizers and biofuel. The highly-populated country has faced a greater demand for energy in parts like transport, cooking and industries. Samira H.
