Plastic Surgery Booms Amidst Pandemic

Pop culture and social media venues have caused a boom in plastic surgery, affecting new generation to gain pride with cosmetic beauty. In the past 10 years, there has been a remarkable progress in plastic surgery.

In 2020, however, the trend dipped as hospitals and beauty clinics were shut down after covid-19 outbreak, making a challenge for elective surgery.

It didn’t last long though! What experts call a “zoom boom” caused the industry to grow back. Video calls and social media grew stronger once the lockdown was implemented. Live meetings made people more critical of their face features. This self-criticizing challenge resulted in inclination to do plastic surgery.

The work-from-home policies in the U.S. provided patients with an opportunity to stay home to recover without a slight damage to their payment. This encouraged them to go through surgery.

A drive for other plastic surgery volunteers was to recover in plain sight- work done on facial features under masks.

Quite the contrary, some patients do surgery above the area covered by masks as those features are visible to others, surgeons report an in this group.

Doctors believe that this pandemic era is just the beginning for plastic surgery’s boom as cosmetic surgery are evolving more and becoming more within the budget.
