PepsiCo has planned to focus on young consumers as wells as women with its initiative of flavoring the drink with herbs.

The new formulated drink is infused with hemp seed oil, spearmint, lemon balm and a slight amount of caffeine (80 mg approx.). The amount of caffeine in other variations of Rockstar drinks varies from 160 to 300 mg.

Presented in 12-ounce cans and flavors including blueberry, passion fruit and raspberry cucumber, Rockstar Unplugged will be available from Tuesday. The starting price for each can is $1.99. The drink’s formula is quite different from what was introduce in Germany last April, added Torres. Unlike the popularity of hemp-infused food and beverages in Germany, they couldn’t attract customers in the U.S.

Hemp seeds contain little to no cannabidiol (CBD). At present, large American companies like PepsiCo and Coca-Cola have not been affected by US restrictions against selling food CBD-infused foods and drinks. However, the consumption of CBD drinks has been moderate.
