Natural Gas_Renewable Source of Energy

What is natural gas? Natural gas is a naturally happening hydrocarbon gas mixture fundamentally consisting  of methane. It usually involves different amounts of other more essential alkanes, and occasionally a small amount of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen sulphide, or helium. Natural gas is a non-renewable hydrocarbon used as a reservoir of energy for heating, cooking, and electricity generation. It is also used as a fuel for vehicles and as a chemical feed stock in the manufacture of plastics and other commercially essential organic chemicals. Natural gas affects climate change; it is a greenhouse gas itself and creates carbon dioxide during oxidation. Natural gas can be used in place of coal, for example, to produce electricity, which may lower net carbon dioxide discharges in the absence of carbon capture. History Of Natural Gas Natural gas was discovered incidentally in ancient China, as it resulted from the drilling for brine. The Chinese first used natural gas in about 500 BC. They found a way to move gas seeping from the ground in full pipelines of bamboo to where it was used to boil salt water to extract the salt in the Ziliujing District. The discovery of natural gas in the Americas occurred in 1626. In 1821, William Hart, fortunately dug the first natural gas well at Fredonia, New York, United States. How did natural gas form? Millions of years ago and over long periods, the remains of plants and animals built up in dense layers on the earth’s surface and ocean floors, sometimes mixed with sand, silt, and calcium carbonate. Over time, these layers were hidden under sand, mud, and rock. Pressure and heat changed some of this carbon and hydrogen-rich material into coal, oil (petroleum), and some into natural gas. Where is natural gas found? In some places, natural gas moves into large holes and spaces between layers of overlying rock. The natural gas, found in these types of formations, is sometimes called natural gas. In other places, natural gas occurs in the little spaces within some structures of shale, sandstone, and different types of sedimentary rock. Electric power sector_ Natural gas is used to produce electricity. Most of the electricity produced by the electric power sector is sold to and used by the other U.S. consuming industries, and that electricity use is included in each sector's total energy consumption. and they use nearly all of this power themselves. Natural gas examined  for 38% of total utility-scale U.S. electricity production by all sectors in 2019. Industrial sector_ Natural gas is used as a fuel for process heating, combined heat and power systems, and as a raw material to produce chemicals, fertiliser, and hydrogen. In 2019, the industrial sector examined about 33% of total U.S. natural gas depletion, and natural gas was the source of about 33% of the U.S. industrial sector's complete energy depletion. Residential sector_ Natural gas used to heat buildings and water, to cook, and to dry clothes. In the United States, mostly use natural gas for these purposes. In 2019, the living sector examined d about 16% of total U.S. natural gas depletion, and natural gas was the source of about 24% of the U.S. Commercial sector _ Natural gas operates refrigeration and cooling equipment, and is used in cooking, drying clothes, and outdoor illumination. Some commercial sector consumers also use natural gas as a fuel in merged heat and power systems. In 2019, the industrial sector examined for about 11% of total U.S. natural gas depletion, and natural gas was the source of about 20% of the U.S. industrial sector's total energy consumption. Transportation sector_ Uses natural gas as a fuel to operate compressors that flow natural gas into pipelines and as a vehicle fuel in the form of reduced natural gas and liquefied natural gas. Almost all vehicles that use natural gas as fuel are in government and private vehicle fleets. In 2019, the transportation sector accounted  for about 3% of total U.S. natural gas consumption. Where natural gas is used? Natural gas is used throughout the United States, but five states considered for about 37% of total U.S. natural gas consumption in 2018.
