Malaysia Files Against EU on Palm Oil Biofuels

The Malaysia’s government reported of a legal measure against the European Union (EU) over palm oil-based biofuel restrictions. Labeling the European Renewable Energy Directive as a “discriminatory action”, Malaysia looks for settlement through WTO, according to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC). Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali, the minister of MPIC, believes that the EU is enforcing the directive while ignoring the country’s dedication and viewpoints. He said the EU won’t regard palm oil biofuel in the renewable energy categories and has imposed improper restrictions on Malaysia’s palm oil. And that’s why the ministry wishes to seek WTO’s help regarding EU’s Renewable Energy Directive II. Malaysia is the second largest palm oil producer after Indonesia. Samira H.

Wego Works with Germany on Toursim

Wego is set to cooperate with the German National Tourist Board to boost travel demand from the Asian country of Malaysia. The German National Tourist Board is now open to travelers from Malaysia. The superb places in Germany will be shown to the tourists so they enjoy spectacular places of the European country and get to know its rich historical background. In 2019, the German Tourist Board recorded a growth in tourism industry and overnight stopovers for tourists amounted to 89.9 million, a 2.5% surge from 2018. Travels to Germany by tourists from Malaysia was recorded at 95,000 in 2019, showing a 5% rise from a year before.
