The American Airlines is planning to lessen its flights in a number of its small cities as demands are shrinking due to the coronavirus.
Carriers need to retain minimum service until 30th of September covered by the aid package, $25 billion. The American airlines is also assisted with a grant of $5.8 billion.
The flight cancellation for nearly 30 destinations will be in place by the next week, according to an American Airlines executive. However, it’s not yet settled which cities are among the list.
Airline executives from carriers have been forcing the Congress for a further $25 billion to pay the workers till the beginning of the next April.
As the federal aid terms are coming to their end, the Department of Transportation, responsible to update airlines on the government’s plan to elongate the least service by the first of August, failed to extend the mandate.
