A new plan by Apeel, a food science company, is set to help the small global farms offer more crops to market and curb food waste. Having collected $30 million, the company also tries to present a broad range of natural coatings varieties with extended shelf life.
The assistance from Apeel to small farm owners will promote supply chains in places like Africa, Central and South America as well as Southeast Asia. Apart from sustaining supply, its technology will cut down food waste, providing farmers and customers with an access to new marketplaces. With some 25% of produce wasted across the world, Apeel aims to expand coatings for saving fruits and vegetables.
These days with a critical food unsafety due to the pandemic, it’s a dramatic challenge to preserve agriculture products.
