Rent the Runway, a subscription styling service offering designer clothes and accessory rentals, informed it is preparing to shut its stores, but will rather work on online and develop its network.
The decision by Rent the Runway comes after a surge in the coronavirus, severely affecting many retailers. The company aims to focus on digital channels to draw customers.
The stores in places like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C., and Chicago are closed, where styling services were offered and customers used to drop off their clothing items to go for the new replacement.
Having collaborated with Nordstrom, WeWork, and West Elm, the company has schemed to expand its network to add drop boxes.
