What is rubber hoses?

The rubber hose is a resilient tube used to move and dispense liquids or gases. Rubber hoses come in different sizes and material compositions. The best hose for a given job will depend on what the hose is composed of, and its strength and size. Rubber hoses need couplings or other attachments that are generally made of metal or plastic to connect to machines, devices, fixtures, or other hoses. Rubber hoses have a many of uses at home, in vehicles, and in industry. A rubber hose will be made of natural rubber or plastic rubber. Hoses made of other substances such as plastic, vinyl, silicone, or other functional materials may be used for related uses. The natural rubber has various advantages as a material for hoses and tubing. It has higher elasticity, can endure high temperatures and pressures, can be frosted or come in multiple bright colors, and needs less energy to create than many plastic materials.

Manufacturing process:

A process for producing a rubber hose having a multilayer wall composed of at least an inner layer of rubber and an outer layer of rubber, the method including the steps of expelling the inner and outer layers together without the aid of any mandrel and curing them commonly, wherein the hose has an inside caliber not eclipsing 20 mm. A wall depth of at least 2 mm, of which at least one-third are maintained by the thickness of the outer layer and the inner layer is of a rubber production containing acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) or H-NBR having a high content, while the outer layer is of a rubber production having a smallest Mooney viscosity of 25 to 65 at a curing temperature.


The rubber requirements in hoses are diverse, depending on the hose type, the product carried, and requirements for filler layers and covers. Any hose can have more than one rubber compound type depending on its construction, specially formulated to give the layer's required properties. One essential factor in rubber hose is achieving very high adhesion levels to ensure maximum resistance to fatigue. The hose's fundamental properties are oil or fluid resistance, high resistance to aromatics, temperature resistance, fatigue resistance, and ozone resistance.

  1. Chemical Transfer Hoses

These hoses are used to convey various industrial chemicals and are most often used in force, pressure flow, and suction service. Working with chemicals can be very harmful, so your hose must endure the pressures you put upon it.

These hoses are typically made of thick pure gum rubber.
