Online Users Growth in China

New figures from CNNIC reveals Chinese people used plenty of online platforms after the outbreak as their habits shifted. The end of 2020 saw 989 million of Chinese applying the internet in the lockdown. China, with a population of nearly 1.4 billion, has seen a growth in online arena; 989 million users were active by the end of the year. Also, a report by the Chinese government indicates that the number of users, who earned an income of at least 5,001 yuan per month, increased 29% in the month of December, which is above March’s rate 27.6%. Working from home, too, had an increase: 346 million in December compared to 147 million in June. The entertainment of video watching exceeded digital shopping, with a jump in December 927 million. In addition, users who applied e-commerce also had a growing number in December: 388 million. Samira H.
